Training at Mule Qui Peut

We say it again and again: a mule is not worked the same way as a horse.

Yes, there are “easy” mules… but that’s not the rule.

And yet, many mule handlers sometimes find themselves alone, a bit lost in their own corner. Others simply want to go further, to bring out the best in their partner, without always knowing how to do it.

It is from this observation that our training journey began.

Since last year, Mule Qui Peut has started organizing training sessions dedicated to mules.

We had the chance to welcome the American Bob Smith – Natural Elements Horsemanship, for a first clinic entirely dedicated to mules. His tour was a real success: spots filled up very quickly, showing a genuine need.

Franco Giani

This year, we continue with Franco Giani, taking advantage of our proximity to the Italian border to host our final session at La Maison du Mulet.

The clinic is already fully booked… but a few auditor spots remain for those who want to learn by observing.

Raphaëlle Duchâteau

We are also thinking about smaller mules.

They have incredible potential, often underused. Without proper guidance, some owners feel helpless. Over time, motivation fades… and you find yourself watching videos from Laurie Wilson or the It’s a Mule Life page by Ellen Cochrane, thinking: “Why not us?”

It is precisely from this reflection that this new clinic was born.

We invite you to work with Raphaëlle Duchâteau, who notably retrained the magnificent white mule Duende during RMMO 2024.

A student of David Lichman, a Parelli instructor, she specializes in groundwork.

Why these clinics?

That’s what our clinics are for.

To provide tools, understanding, and to build a real relationship.

Because a mule is not forced — it is understood.
